Hello

Hey there, I'm Kelly.  I teach people just like you how to create holistic lifestyle changes to naturally support their overall health and well-being. I'm a multi-tasking mom of two active kids (and one fur-baby!) that splits my work time between being an Occupational Therapist and a Wellness Educator.  If I'm not cheering my kids on at the rink, you'll most likely find me working in my garden, on my yoga mat or reading a book and sipping on some essential oil-infused sparkling water. I love to be outside  - basking in the sunshine, on my mountain bike or on a hike with my pup.  And I can never wait for our next family games night, a backyard BBQ with friends or our annual camping trip. My family brings me so much joy and inspires me to teach them and our future generations importance of living a holistic wellness-inspired life.

My Story

In the fall of 2005 my life changed dramatically with the three words you never want to hear: You Have Cancer. I was 23, and in one of the happiest moments of my life. I had just moved to Vancouver and started the Masters of Occupational Therapy Program at UBC.  Cancer wasn’t a stranger to my family - but I certainly felt like I was too young and too healthy for this to be happening to me.  I was determined to heal and not let this take me down - or out of the program I had worked so hard to get into. Midway through the program, in 2006, I was involved in a car accident that left me emotionally shaken and with a diagnosis of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I knew that in addition to the medical treatments, there were other aspects of my health that I needed to take control over and this is what started me down the path of a more holistic and preventative approach to my health.

I married the love of my life on the beach in Maui the year I was officially cancer-free. When we had our children in 2012 and 2014, they instantly became my world and I had a fierce determination to protect them from whatever things I had control over.  I felt the need to make sense of all that I had been through. I knew that I had a genetic component to my cancer but the more I learned about epigenetics, I knew the daily choices I made for my own health and any family’s health mattered more than anything. I made conscious choices about the foods and supplements we put into our bodies, the products we used on our skin and the products we put in the air around us and on the surfaces in our home. I learned more and more that the majority of everyday products that are marketed and sold to us were doing more to harm our bodies when what we really needed were products that would help us thrive.

In 2016, I found doTERRA. I had been using other essential oils as a natural tool for supporting my emotions, skin and respiratory health and while I was skeptical about switching brands, I was blown away with how doTERRA’s oils were more effective that what I had been using. They are a now a huge part of what reduces the toxins in our home and keeps our bodies healthy. I have an effective toolkit on hand when situations arise that I can safely manage at home and it has replaced so many over-the-counter products we no longer need.  I wanted to turn my experience and the knowledge into something constructive and positive to share this with others. doTERRA became the vehicle that allowed me to share my experience - and the incredible solutions we’d found.

I have continued to practice as an Occupational Therapist but I’ve spent the last two decades continuously educating myself about health and wellness; specifically the importance of nutrition, stress management, sleep, exercise, reducing our toxic load and self care. While doTERRA contributes to each of these areas daily, we also find joy as a family by growing our own vegetables in the summer, playing hockey (yes, me too!) in the winter, enjoying hikes, bikes and time in nature together with our dog, practicing yoga and expressing gratitude each and every day. Empowering my children to understand their bodies and how important it is to take care of their physical and emotional health is one of the greatest gift I can give them.

I am on a mission to find ways to empower individuals and families so they can take an active role in their healing journey and understand what changes they can make to continue to thrive and have future generations thrive.  Every person and every journey is unique and together we work on achieving a higher level of health, quality of life, and emotional and physical wellbeing.
